Join us for a fabulous walk followed by a fabulous High Tea provided by the amazing Jennie Stogdon from Pop Up Dining Room.
It will be a little under 6 miles, but it has a few hills to stretch their legs a bit!
We will be meeting at Haytor Lower Car Park. Pay & Display, £3 in coins for all day and the toilets might be open.
We will then leave the carpark and go up and over Haytor Rocks to pick up the Granite Tramway. We will then follow this for a short distance before branching off to Smallacombe Rocks and then Black Hill. Down into the valley then up the other side to have a look at Hound Tor Medieaval Village, before making our way down to the Becca Brook then up to Holwell Quarries, back onto the Granite Tramway, finishing up at Haytor Quarries. There are some quite strenuous ascents out of the Becca Brook valley, and the ground is very uneven and rocky in places.
Once we get to Haytor Quarries, we will be met with the lovely Jenny Stogdon from Pop Up Dining Room. She will be providing a High Tea consisting of sandwiches, scones, cream, jam, cakes and teas and coffees!
Please do wear suitable attire for walking on Dartmoor, ie walking boots and suitable clothing as the weather is very changeable, so please be prepared for possible rain or hot weather.
We will be following the government guidelines in terms of social distancing.
