Join us for a fabulous walk followed by a fabulous High Tea provided by the amazing Jennie Stogdon from Pop Up Dining Room.
It will be a little under 7 miles, but it has a few hills to stretch their legs a bit!
We’ll be out for about 3 hours and going fairly deep into the moor on this 7 mile walk, a little ‘off piste’ walking, but mainly on beaten tracks, not good footpaths, so PLEASE wear walking boots!
We’ll be meeting at the Postbridge information centre at1.30pm. The toilets were closed when I checked the route.
Car parking is £3 in coins for all day. If it is full, there is another carpark about 200 metres up the road (towards Princetown) at Bellever Forest.
Leaving the car park at 1.45pm.
We’ll walk up the East Dart river, past the ‘Beehive hut’ and onwards to the Grey Wethers stone circles. Turning uphill, we’ll summit Sittaford Tor and then try to find the Sittaford stone circle – it may have sunk into the peat by now! Turning for home, we’ll walk across the Eastern edge of Winney’s Down, back to the West Dart, which we’ll cross at The Waterfall. From there its 3km back to Postbridge and the highlight of the day – High Tea!
Once we get back to Postbridge, we will be met with the lovely Jenny Stogdon from Pop Up Dining Room. She will be providing a High Tea consisting of sandwiches, scones, cream, jam, cakes and teas and coffees!
Please do wear suitable attire for walking on Dartmoor, ie walking boots and suitable clothing as the weather is very changeable, so please be prepared for possible rain or hot weather.
We will be following the government guidelines in terms of social distancing.
