How can we bring a story to life be it a fairy tale, myth or an amusing anecdote?
Join us for an interactive workshop run by storyteller and spoken word artist, Chris Brooks, explores the rudiments of oral storytelling in a fun and non-threatening way.
10 to 15 minutes of sharing what has brought the participants to the workshop.
50 to 60 minutes of activities. During this time I will model and share snippets of skills and techniques with participants having opportunities to carry out small tasks and chances to share when comfortable to do so.
10 to 15 minutes sharing time during which participants who wish to are able to share short pieces of storytelling building on what has been discovered during the session.
The main thrust of the activities will be aimed at finding the stories we would like to tell, unpicking the key events in the stories and starting to find our authentic voices as storytellers.
Chris Brooks offers a range of courses, workshops and storytelling events which focus on the timeless wisdom contained within traditional fairy tales and folklore.
For many years Chris has worked as a poetic and comedic performer and led courses and workshops that explore the rudiments of spoken word performance.
