Single? Are you missing a trick?

I’ve spoken to a lot of single females and the feedback I hear is always the same – ‘everyone seems to just want a pen pal’. If you want to meet someone then just ask them out and make it happen.

I think both men and women make that mistake, too much talking and not enough face to face interaction. This is why it is so important to meet someone face to face. It’s the Law of Physical Attraction.

Research has shown that the health impact of loneliness – both physical and mental – can be devastating.
Loneliness is as bad for our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day and worse for us than obesity. Chronic loneliness is cutting lives short and the problem is growing. The new year is a time when people feel it more acutely, so for many it’s the perfect time to vow to make a change.

I launched Pi Society last year and have brought numerous couples together both through our matchmaking process and through our singles events.

Our events are varied and suit everybody’s tastes:

• Monthly Pi Singles Evenings
• Food and Drink Masterclasses
• Mid Week Cheeky Supper Nights
• Rugby Matches
• Book Club Nights hosted by authors
• Pi Comedy Nights
• Special Pi Guided Walks/lunches
• Special Pi Activities, including the PROMS, Theatre breaks,
• Singles Cycling Club
• Singles Golf days
• Long weekends away

One of our recent couples says:

“Over the past few years being single, I have tried lots of different ways of meeting new people. Like many, I have been on various online dating sites, I joined a few local MeetUp groups, gone on singles holidays in Greece – and I have met lots of people and gone to many new places. However, I just wasn’t having much success in finding a new partner.

After thinking about joining the Pi Society for several months, I eventually decided to give it a try. On hindsight, I wish I had joined up mush sooner! I really enjoyed going along to events such as midweek supper nights, cocktail evenings and wine tasting nights to name a few. Nicky has always been a great host and made sure that everyone was made welcome and not left out on any occasion. I met my current partner through these events and although it is still early days -we have just booked our second weekend break away together! The only sad thing is now is that we will miss out on all the lovely events that the Pi Society has to offer! It is quite simply a great way to meet new friends and partners in a safe, sociable setting……”
